Our world is filled with conflict. At NCRC, we are dedicated to proving that, while conflict is inevitable, it is manageable on every level and in all environments. In addition to our daily efforts to build bridges through conflict management, NCRC also recognizes that others throughout the world are finding ways to embrace the techniques of peaceful conflict resolution. On April 6, 2019, NCRC will proudly host the 31st Annual Peacemaker Awards dinner to honor individuals and organizations that are dedicated to peacemaking in their own neighborhoods and around the world. This inspiring event continues to prove that although conflict can be painful and destructive, it also brings opportunities for growth through improved understanding and insight.
The 31st Annual Peacemaker Awards will be held at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel. The cocktail reception will take place from 5:30 to 7 PM, dinner will be from 7 to 9 PM.
The Peacemaker Awards History
Since the first Peacemaker Awards in 1989, NCRC has celebrated the accomplishments of many individuals and organizations for their ability to recognize a need for change, then craft a positive solution to the issue. NCRC has given awards to deserving recipients ranging from well known elected officials and public figures to reformed gang members and tattoo artists. Knowing that peacemaking happens in a variety of ways, NCRC celebrates both large and small acts of successful conflict management. At the 2018 Peacemaker Awards, we will continue our tradition of honoring awardees for actively supporting nonviolence and collaborative problem solving. By publicly acknowledging and celebrating these outstanding individuals and organizations, NCRC hopes the Peacemaker Awards will broadcast far and wide that there is hope for change and we must always strive to find positive solutions to conflict and violence.
