William Eddy

For the past 22 years Mr. Eddy has been a family law attorney and divorce mediator in San Diego, with a Certification as a Family Law Specialist by the California State Bar Association.  He has served as a Special Master and as a Settlement Judge in San Diego family law cases.  He won reversals in both of the family law cases he brought to the Court of Appeals.  He is trained in Collaborative Divorce and has handled collaborative cases. He has represented approximately 400 clients as a lawyer, provided mediation services to approximately 1500 couples, and mediated approximately 100 civil and business disputes. Mr. Eddy is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with 12 years’ experience providing psychotherapy to children, adults, couples and families in psychiatric hospitals and outpatient clinics, prior to becoming a lawyer in 1993.  He also writes and teaches professionals about managing high-conflict cases in legal disputes, as well as workplace, healthcare and education disputes. He has taught Negotiation and Mediation at the University of San Diego School of Law, and he is on the adjunct faculty of the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law and the National Judicial College.
