William Eddy, NCRC Divorce Mediator and Author
Mr. Eddy, a nationally known author and divorce mediator, has been a family law attorney and divorce mediator in San Diego, for 15 years. He has been certified as a Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California. Mr. Eddy has served as a Special Master and as a Settlement Judge in San Diego family law cases. Mr. Eddy is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with 12 years’ experience providing psychotherapy to children, couples and families.
John C. Edwards, NCRC Mediator and Assistant Trainer
Mr. Edwards, an experienced mediator, has been practicing law since 1977. He represented both plaintiffs and defendants in jury trials, court trials, arbitrations and mediations. His mediation practice focuses primarily on commercial and residential real estate matters, construction defect, employment disputes and conflicts in administrative matters in higher education. He is also on NCRC’s Construction Defect, Employment/Workplace and Real Estate Panels.
Barbara Filner, Director, NCRC Training Institute
Ms. Filner has been a mediator with the National Conflict Resolution Center since 1984 and is the Director of NCRC’s Training Institute. She has developed mediator training, workshops and mediator credential programs for numerous institutions and organizations in the U.S. and Europe. She is the author of many articles and co-author of several books on mediation and conflict resolution.
Uri Gneezy, Professor of Management & Strategy is a professor of economics and strategy in the Rady School of Management at UCSD. His research, teaching, and consulting interests are in behavioral economics, strategy and negotiation. His work brings psychological elements into the study of economic interactions. Dr. Gneezy's main focus is on the effect of incentives on behavior of individuals and markets. He also studies gender differences, discrimination and ethics. Before joining the Rady School, Professor Gneezy was a faculty member at the University of Chicago, Technion and Haifa. He received his Ph.D. from the Center for Economic Research in Tilburg.
Michael Jenkins, Esq.
Mr. Jenkins, a mediator since 1992, has mediated for such organizations as the National Conflict Resolution Center, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, San Diego Superior Court, San Diego City Attorney’s Office, and the San Diego City Council. He has trained mediators in introductory and advanced mediation techniques, has taught at the University of San Diego School of Law, and is currently an adjunct professor at San Diego State University.
Lisa Maxwell, Senior NCRC Trainer
Ms. Maxwell has been a mediator since 1985 and is currently a senior trainer with SDMC. She has mediated over 100 cases involving different issues. She has extensive experience working with large groups, interpersonal disputes and complex issues. She has a Master’s Degree in education. She has developed courses in Spanish for monolingual Spanish speakers as well as a unique series of classes in conflict resolution for military housing counselors. She is an adjunct professor as San Diego State University and also teaches at South Western College.
Betty McManus, Director, NCRC Credentialing Program
Ms. McManus is an experienced mediator on a wide variety of subjects with particular expertise in dealing with highly emotional, relationship cases. She has facilitated more than a dozen community forums, retreats, or other group discussions. She is a seasoned coach and trainer of new mediators and is also on NCRC’s Probate Specialty Panel.
Angela Roethe, BM, Mediation Akademi, Munich
Ms. Roethe is from Munich, Germany, where she runs the “Academy for Mediation and Training” and the “Streitshchule”, a seminar on constructive communication in conflicts. She was formerly a journalist and worked for both the German and the American edition of the magazine Psychology Today. Ms. Roethe works for the National Conflict Resolution Center on their training and Credential Program in Germany. She is the co-author of two very successful books on Conflict Resolution that unfortunately have not been published in English (yet).
Robin Duboe Seigle, Director, NCRC Business Center
Ms. Seigle has been mediating since 1984, training groups and individuals in advanced mediation theory since 1985, and has been a staff member of National Conflict Resolution Center since 1989. She currently administers NCRC’s Business mediation and the Divorce mediation programs. She has mediated over 300 matters including complex multi-party cases referred by the Superior Court.
