Course Objectives

The goal of this 45 hour mediation course is to provide students with an understanding of mediation theory and conflict management skills. The objective of the course is to aid students incorporate specific skills into their current career paths. It is an experiential learning, interactive course which will help the diverse group of students integrate the skills into their prospective professions in a pragmatic fashion. Skills in mediation and conflict resolution have proven to enhance an individual’s personal and professional life.

Program Location: Rimini, Italy

Among Italians, Rimini is probably the most famous seaside resort on the Adriatic Riviera. Located in Northern Italy, Rimini is surrounded by hills and beautiful sandy beaches, nightlife and restaurants. Dating from to the 1st century B. C., Rimini's historic centre is rich in monuments originating from Roman times.

Class will be held at the University of Bologna’s Faculty of Economics in Rimini.

Accommodations

All participants will enjoy 13 nights at a 3 Star Hotel in the heart of Rimini’s historical center. The hotel is conveniently located near the bus and train station, allowing for a short taxi ride or leisurely 100 meter walk.

All rooms are based on single occupancy and include AC, TV, mini-bar and telephone. The hotel provides hairdryers and in-room safes upon request.

Transportation

The nearest airports are Federico Fellini International airport (RMI) in Rimini and Bologna’s Marconi International (BLQ). Public transportation options are available upon arrival at either airport.

Transit from Federico Fellini International Airport in Rimini to the nearest train station may be secured through bus or taxi. Bus route 9 runs approximately once every 30 minutes. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes and the fare is 1 Euro. A taxi from the airport to the hotel will cost as much as 15 Euros.

Transit from Marconi International in Bologna to Rimini is best handled via train. Passengers should take the 20 minute shuttle from the Terminal-Railway Station for 5 Euros. Tickets may be purchased on the shuttle. The train ride between Bologna and Rimini lasts 90 -120 minutes.
