Mediation Skills Training

Introductory Mediation Skills

This intensive 32-hour skill-building course, offered four times a year, will introduce you to effective mediation techniques through a combination of lectures, simulations, and participatory exercises and meets the standards of the California Dispute Resolution Programs Act.

Advanced Mediation Skills

Learn the "tricks of the trade" from mediators highly experienced in using NCRC's mediation model in a variety of actual cases. This interactive course builds on skills learned in the Introductory Mediation Skills Training and introduces new techniques for dealing with impasse, ethical dilemmas, money issues, high conflict personalities, and adaptations of the facilitative model in business and legal settings. Supervised one-on-one skill development, individual coaching sessions, and feedback are provided by NCRC trainers and mentor mediators.
