Ms. McBrayer convened two youth violence prevention symposiums to coordinate community response to East County school shootings, and purchased and distributed more than 750 gunlocks to local law enforcement agencies for distribution with guns returned to owners after impoundment.

Antoine (Tony) El-Assis: For creating a videotape about distinctions in customs and cultures among Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and Middle Easterners
To promote greater cultural awareness among law enforcement personnel Tony El-Assis, liaison for the San Diego Police Department to the Arab-American community, created a videotape about distinctions in customs and cultures among Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and Middle Easterners in San Diego.

David S. Casey, Jr.: For working with Congress to develop the September 11 Victims’ Fund
Senior partner with Casey Gerry Reed & Schenk and vice president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Mr. Casey worked through the ATLA with Congress to develop the September 11 Victims’ Fund to provide financial relief to survivors without the delay, emotional stress, and expense of litigation.
